Healing Your Ombre & Misty Brows

Following the right aftercare makes all the difference. Your timeline and daily habits directly shape your final colour and shape — here's exactly what to do, and what to expect at every stage.

What are ombre & misty brows?

Ombre and misty brows are soft, semi-permanent shading techniques applied with a digital machine, depositing pigment as fine pixel-like dots. Ombre creates a gentle gradient — lighter at the front, deeper through the tail — while misty is the softest and most diffused finish, for a hazy, natural look. Both suit most skin types and heal in exactly the same way.

The Golden Rules
WHAT TO DO
Keep Dry
First 24–48 hours

Keep your brows completely dry for the first 24–48 hours so the pigment can settle. Use a gentle cleanser only after this period.

Apply Balm
Thin layer

Apply the healing balm provided — a thin layer only, never thickly. Too much suffocates the tattoo and pulls pigment out.

No Sweat or Water
7–10 days

Avoid heavy sweating, saunas, and swimming, which can disrupt the healing pigment.

Don't Pick
Throughout healing

Never pick or scratch the flakes or scabs. Let every one fall naturally to avoid patchy colour.

Skip Actives
Until healed

Keep active skincare — retinols and acids — away from the brow area until fully healed.

Sun & SPF
Once healed

Avoid direct sun exposure, and always wear SPF on the brows to slow fading.

The Healing Journey
WHAT YOU'LL SEE, WHAT IT MEANS, WHAT TO DO
Days 1–2 · Fresh

Darker, Bolder & Crisp

Brows look darker, bolder, and crisp, with possible slight redness or swelling. The pigment is fresh and sitting on top of the skin — around 40% darker than your healed result. Ombre looks bolder at first and misty a little lighter, so don't judge by these early days.

To doKeep the area clean, avoid touching, and apply a thin layer of balm if advised.
Days 3–4 · Repairing

Flaking Begins

Flaking starts and the brows feel tight as small scabs appear. Your skin is repairing itself, and the lifting flakes will make the brows look uneven for a while.

To doDon't pick — let the scabs fall away naturally.
Days 5–7 · Peak Peeling

Patchy & Itchy

Peeling reaches its peak. Brows may look patchy and lighter in spots, and itching is common. This is a normal part of healing — the pigment beneath the flakes can lift temporarily.

To doContinue gentle cleansing and balm as directed.
Days 8–10 · The Ghosting Phase

Now You See It, Now You Don't

Brows may look too light, as though the pigment has gone completely. A fresh layer of skin has formed over the pigment, hiding the colour temporarily.

To doStay patient — the pigment resurfaces in the days ahead.
Days 11–14 · Returning

Colour Comes Back

The pigment begins to return and the brows look softer as the skin regenerates and the colour starts to balance.

To doAvoid makeup and active skincare near the brows.
Weeks 3–4 · Settling

Brows Even Out

Your brows even out and the colour looks more natural — around 40–60% lighter than Day 1. The pigment has settled into the skin and the tone softens.

To doWear SPF on the brows if outdoors, and continue avoiding harsh products.
Weeks 5–6 · Healed

Your Final Result

Fully healed, your brows look soft, shaded, and balanced. This is your final colour.

Long-Term Care
PROTECT YOUR INVESTMENT
Sun Protection

Once healed, apply SPF 30 or higher on your brows whenever you're in the sun — UV rays cause premature fading.

Skincare Ingredients

Keep active skincare off the brow area — Retinol, Retin-A, Vitamin C, and resurfacing acids like glycolic or lactic — as they break the pigment down over time.

Trust the process.

Clients who follow their aftercare almost always heal with softer, more even colour. Every stage — even the bold, flaky, or faded ones — is a completely normal part of healing, so trust it as your skin does its work.
