Healing is a journey — and a rewarding one. Here's what to expect at every stage, and how to care for your brows so they settle beautifully.
Nano brows — also known as nano machine strokes — are a form of semi-permanent brow tattooing created with a digital machine and a super-fine needle — soft, natural strokes with better longevity and gentler healing than traditional microblading. Results last up to 3 years.
No touching, rubbing, or getting the brows wet. Let the strokes settle undisturbed.
Avoid swimming, saunas, and heavy exercise — heavy sweat and moisture affect pigment retention.
Never pick or scratch the flakes. Let every one shed on its own to avoid pigment fading.
Avoid direct sun exposure, and no active skincare on the treatment site — Retinol, AHAs, or Vitamin C — on the brow area until fully healed.
Your brows will look fresh and a little bolder than their final result — though for some they already appear natural. The pigment is sitting on the surface of the skin and will settle gradually over the coming weeks. A little tightness or redness is normal and usually subsides quickly.
As the pigment begins to settle, your brows soften and lighten. You may notice mild dryness or itchiness — a normal sign of healing. Resist the urge to touch or scratch.
The peeling stage begins. Small flakes and mild dry patches appear as your skin exfoliates, and your brows may look as though they're fading or turning patchy — but the pigment is still there beneath the surface.
However tempting, don't pick. Let your skin shed naturally — picking or peeling can lead to uneven healing and patchy results, so it's important to let this stage run its course.
Once the flaking subsides, your brows may appear significantly lighter. This is the ghosting phase — surprising, but completely normal. A fresh layer of skin has formed over the pigment, temporarily muting the colour. Over the next one to two weeks, the pigment reappears and settles into place.
Now your brows begin to bloom. The colour returns, the strokes become more crisp and visible, and the shape softens into something true to your final result. By the end of week 4 they're mostly healed — any areas still looking light or uneven are exactly what your touch-up is for.
Once your skin is fully healed, it's time for your perfecting session — an essential part of the nano brow process. Your artist reinforces any areas that didn't hold pigment as well, refines the colour or shape if needed, and ensures your result is even and long-lasting. Every skin heals a little differently, which is why this second session matters so much.
The best results come from following your aftercare closely, especially in the first few weeks. Every stage — even the flaky or faded ones — is a completely normal part of the process, so trust it as your skin does its work. Be sure to book and attend your touch-up within the recommended timeframe to perfect and lock in your final result.
