It's normal for the treated area to feel warm, with mild redness, flushing or a light tingling sensation — this typically settles within a few hours. There's no real downtime — most clients return straight to their day.
First 24–48 Hours
To avoid
Heat — hot showers, steam rooms and saunas can inflame newly treated skin
Strenuous exercise, which causes excessive sweating and can irritate the area
Icing the area — HIFU relies on heat to stimulate collagen, so icing can interfere with your skin's natural healing response
Direct sun exposure
First 48 Hours
Skin care & hydration
Keep it simple — a gentle cleanser and moisturiser only. Skip retinol, Vitamin C and physical scrubs during this window. Drink plenty of water to support healing and help your skin flush waste products from the treated area.
Next 2–4 Weeks
Sun protection & other treatments
Apply a broad-spectrum SPF 30+ daily and avoid peak UV hours — sunburn can seriously hinder healing. Please also hold off on laser treatments, microneedling, waxing or injectables in the treated area for 2–4 weeks.
Please get in touch if you notice swelling that persists or worsens beyond a few days, increasing pain or tenderness, blistering or broken skin, or any signs of infection such as spreading redness, warmth or discharge. Everyone's skin responds a little differently — if anything feels off, we'd rather hear from you.
A note from your practitioner
HIFU works gradually — collagen continues rebuilding for months after your session, so results build slowly rather than all at once. Patience and consistency with your home care routine are what carry these results forward. Any questions along the way, we're here.
